As the school year comes to an end, the extra curricular activities organised by the Councillor for Education are also coming to an end. From January until June children aged from 3 to 12 have been able to take part in the three available activities: multisports, help with schoolwork and the farm school. Through the programme, the participants spent their afternoons in an entertaining and enriching manner, working on their personal development, revising educational content or getting closer to nature and treating it as an outdoor experimental laboratory.

The Councillor for Education said that the initiative had proved “fairly positive, because there was demand and some activities were full”. The project was financed through a grant from the Diputación de Alicante for extra curricular activities aimed at easing the effects of the lockdown. The grant was valued at 5,542,40 €, and Gallart hopes that the initiative will continue: ‘the intention is to continue and we will do everything in our power to be able to repeat it in the next school year. But it depends on whether we continue with the support of the Diputación de Alicante or another authority, because running a project like this on our own is difficult for a village like ours’.
