“Making the people aware of the importance of recycling and educating on the potential and the possibilities of recyclable rubbish”. With these words, the councillor for the environment sums up the symbolic initiative with which Beniarbeig town hall has taken a big step forward in respect of the use of recycled materials as a basis for a more sustainable and ecological management of waste materials.

After installing a heart shaped container in the Plaza del 9 de Octubre to collect bottle tops, a public bench made from the same material which the people of Beniarbeig have recycled has also been installed next to the container.

The technical management of the project has been done by the Valencian company CM Plástico. Beniarbeig thus becomes the first village in the Marina Alta to convert recycled material into urban furniture.

Beniarbeig Town Hall has stressed the importance of the intervention for future efforts, as the bottle tops which continue to be collected will be used for community support and for other projects in the village. .
